The Johnstown Tomahawks added 12 players to the fold on Tuesday as the NAHL conducted its annual draft. 

Johnstown, which held the league’s best regular-season record and advanced to the semifinals of the Robertson Cup playoffs this past season, used its first-round pick to select forward Connor Sleeth 26th overall. The 5-foot-11 forward skated for the Kanata Lasers the past two seasons. 

The Tomahawks took Dauphin Kings center Noah Basarab at No. 50. Buffalo Jr. Sabres forward Nathan Berke was taken in the third round, with Alex Dalton – a forward with the Spruce Grove Saints, selected in the fourth round. 

The team picked goaltender Colin Purcell at No. 156. Evan Benwell, a right wing from Toronto, was taken by the club in the seventh round. 

Defenseman Brennan McDonnell was picked in the eighth round with fellow blue-liner Lars Olsen following at No. 234 overall in the ninth round. 

The team selected Maxim Kouznetsov in the 10th round, forward Thomas Finck in the 11th, defenseman Sean Detloff with the 312th pick, and defenseman Dinmukhamed Dzhangarashev in the 13th round. 

Johnstown passed on its picks in Rounds 14-16.
