JAMESTOWN, New York – The Johnstown Tomahawks opened their weekend road trip with a 3-1 loss to the Jamestown Rebels at Northwest Arena.
Jamestown’s Jordan Cormier tipped a shot past Tomahawks goalie, David Tomeo, to make it 1-0.
Nick Siffringer put his team up 2-0 on the power play.
Johnstown was able to chip away at Jamestown’s lead as Carson Gallagher scored on the power play – his 14th of the season – with Bennett Stockdale and Quinn Warmuth picking up the assists.
The Tomahawks appeared to have tied the game late in the period, but the referees waved the goal off due to the net coming off its moorings.
The comeback was short-lived as Liam Hansson scored 3 minutes into the third period to put Jamestown up 3-1.
