Bishop McCort 81, Bedford 40
BEDFORD – Mike Cruz scored 23 points Monday night to lead the visiting Crimson Crushers to a victory over the Bisons and give fourth-year coach Pat Hollern his 100th career victory.
“It’s been fun,” said Hollern, whose team also got 12 points from Zak Boyd and 11 from Jim Spisak.
Mark Scott topped the Bedford scoring with 13 points while Zach Hess added 11.
Bishop McCort led 13-12 in the first and the Crushers went on a 31-10 run for a 44-22 halftime advantage.
Ferndale 75, Meyersdale 59
MEYERSDALE – Brandon Miller hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points as Ferndale kept host Meyersdale winless.
Bill Dill scored 18 points for Ferndale (4-1) and Ryan Gaunt chipped in with 14.
Eric Brant paced the Red Raiders (0-5) with 21 points. Ryan Moore added 16 and Tyler Sechler had 13.
Shade 63, Windber 59
CAIRNBROOK – All of Tyler Smith’s six points came during the fourth quarter at the free-throw line as unbeaten Shade held off a spunky Windber squad. The Panthers (7-0) went 10-for-12 down the stretch at the line to preserve the narrow win.
Josh Barnes led all scorers with 16 points while Joel Kaminsky added 14 points along with seven steals and six assists for the Panthers. Brandon Kudasik chipped in 10.
Jonathan Ferensic, Jared Mock and Blake Henger each had 10 points for Windber.
Somerset 75, Westmont 64
SOMERSET – The Golden Eagles used a 23-3 run in the last 5:09 of the fourth to overcome a nine-point deficit and in turn remained unbeaten with a win over the Hilltoppers.
Anthony Papini’s 17 points led Somerset.
Teammates Evan Walsh (12 points, eight assists), Austin Ankney (14 points, eight rebounds) and Tyler Uphouse (14 points) also contributed to the Golden Eagles’ cause.
Sam Hahn’s 19 points topped all Westmont scorers. Nick Khuri added a dozen points for the guests.
C. Ridge 58, Forbes Road 57
WATERFALL – Bryce McVicker muscled up a shot from inside the paint with four seconds remaining in overtime to lift Chestnut Ridge to a road victory.
The Lions (5-3) got 24 points from McVicker.
High School Girls
Cone. Twp. 61, Somerset 43
DAVIDSVILLE – Coneamugh Township sprinted out to a 13-point lead in the first quarter in a win over visiting Somerset.
Jamie Gennett led the Indians (7-0) with 19 points while Stephanie Straka had 14 and Megan Maurer added 11. Gennett had nine steals and Maurer grabbed nine rebounds.
Chelsea Shaulis and Michelle Svonavec each scored 11 points for Somerset.
B. Guilfoyle 50, Forest Hills 38
SIDMAN – The Marauders outscored Forest Hills 20-7 in the second quarter, providing just enough distance in a road win.
Christine Conrad had 14 points to lead Bishop Guilfoyle, which got 12 points from Kaylee Keagy and 10 points from Alli Williams.
Brittany Skyles scored 16 points to pace the Rangers, who received 11 points from Teddi Burkett and five assists from Courtney Smay.
