Jeff Miller will have a chance to keep climbing in the points standings, as Thunder Valley Raceway resumes action at 7:30 tonight.

Miller helped himself out in the late model standings last week by winning the 25-lap feature at the half-mile, semi-banked clay oval. Miller fended off John Britsky and Scott Rhodes – the division leader with 705 points – for the win.

With the trip to Victory Lane, Miller moved from third place to second in the standings after the June 24 race with 617 points, ahead of Steve Everhart (572), Britsky (567) and Matt Gaston (562).

In addition to the late models, Thunder Valley’s weekly series includes limited lates, street stocks, pure stocks, cruisers and four cylinders.

In last week’s limited late model feature, Jim Sayler captured his first win of the season.

Pole-sitter Donnie Hedge was second, Dan Lee third, Yvette Hahn fourth and points leader Shawn McGarvey finished fifth.

McGarvey has a 115-point lead over Dwayne Taneyhill (605) in the limited late model standings. Ted Gallaher is third (595), Hahn is fourth (540) and Lee is fifth (526).

Ashley Barrett completed a rare feat last week, going from last to first in the 15-lap street stock feature.

Barrett began the race in the final spot in the 16-car field. Barrett got the win after race leader Patrick McDonough collided with a lapped car. Matt Hayman was second and McDonough third.

Hayman is the points leader with 629, ahead of John Swartzwelder (602), Billy McCellan (580), Jason Breegle (576) and Johnathan Hayman (568).

Tom Warren won the pure stocks last week, with Greg Custer second and Donald Lybarger third.

Warren, who has six wins this season at Thunder Valley, tops the pure stock points standings with 735. Jamie Kohan (650), Greg Custer (621) and Lybarger (583) are battling for second through fourth place. Russ Hartman (506) has a single-point lead over Kory Shiley (505) for fifth.

Dave Day Jr, who is ninth in points, swept last week’s four cylinder twin feature.

Chris Booher, with a pair of third places last week, continues to lead in points with 890. Cindy Shaulis (838), Rob Prinkley (672), Karl Bailey (554) and Jeff Brown (553) round out the top five.
