And just like that, the Johnstown Chiefs have a new streak going. Only this time, that’s a good thing.

After breaking a 10-game winless streak with a victory at home on Friday, the Chiefs dispatched the Storm 5-2 Saturday night in Toledo.

Rookie goaltender Morgan Cey earned his first professional victory, stopping 29 shots as Johnstown gave him help with a four-goal third period.

“I was really hoping that tonight was going to be the night,” Cey said. “I’m happy it’s under my belt and hopefully there’s a lot more to come.

Justin Kelly scored a pair of goals for the Chiefs, and Adam Henrich, J.B. Bittner and Randy Rowe all provided tallies.

Cey came up with several strong saves during a scoreless second period, allowing the Chiefs to protect a one-goal lead.

Notes: The Chiefs traded third-year goaltender David Currie to Victoria for future considerations on Friday. Currie is expected to join the Salmon Kings this week. The move is a result of the Chiefs receiving contract goaltenders Jon Boutin and Cey from the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning system.
