St. Vincent dedicates field for Steelers coach Noll

LATROBE – St. Vincent College dedicated its new football field to former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll on Thursday.

The Steelers have held their training camp at the school for 41 summers.

Noll could not attend Thursday afternoon’s ceremony, but did write a letter. He was the Steelers’ coach from 1969-91, and he remains the only coach to win four Super Bowls.

Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney and team President Art Rooney II said Noll had an “unwavering commitment to winning.”

The school will also use the 1,500-seat Chuck Noll Field, including its football team, the Bearcats, who are returning to action this fall after a half-century absence.
