Conemaugh Valley 52, Forest Hills 44
Rory Marshall led the Blue Jays with 14 points and Evan Thompson had 13 points while Vince Turner pulled down 10 rebounds as Conemaugh Valley extended its winning streak to nine games with a home triumph over Forest Hills.
The Rangers received 19 points from Dan Myers.
High School Girls
Punxsutawney 56, Bishop Carroll 43
EBENSBURG – The Chucks overcame a 21-9 first-quarter deficit by holding the Huskies to three points in the second quarter – outscoring the hosts 18-3 in the frame – on their way to a victory over host Bishop Carroll.
Lauren Martino led all scorers with 22 for Punxsutawney. Bishop Carroll was led by Joelle Knopp’s 16 points.
College Men
Pitt-Johnstown 85, Concord 82
ATHENS, W.Va. – Kyle Goldcamp scored 17 points and reeled in 10 rebounds as the Mountain Cats extended their winning streak to 13 games – the longest in the nation in Division II – with a win over host Concord (W.Va.).
Pitt-Johnstown also got 16 points from Steve Scorpion, 15 from Chris Gilliam and 13 from Marcus Tullis.
Mount Aloysius 93, La Roche 81
CRESSON – Mount Aloysius remained on the winning track, knocking off La Roche College at home.
Sophomore guard Jimmy Snyder gave a career-best performance, scoring 25 points. Snyder was one of six Mounties to score in double figures: Sam Hanik (18), Roman Mims (12), Jeff Slatcoff (12), A.J. Bender (10) and Edgar Sampson (10).
Steve Lucas paced the Red Hawks with 17 points and Nate Davis added 10 points.
College Women
Concord 73, Pitt-Johnstown 71
ATHENS, W.Va. – Only six of Pitt-Johnstown’s points came off the bench as the Lady Cats (11-3) dropped a narrow decision to Concord (W.Va.). Crystal Andrews led all scorers with 21 points while teammates Samantha Conner and Jessica Zapf added 18 and 14, respectively. Conner now sits three points shy of 1,000 for her career.
The Lions received matching 17-point efforts from Jessica Ferguson and Samm Nester, Lyndsey Repass chipped in 10 for Concord (6-6). Pitt-Johnstown led 41-29 at the half before Concord fought back in the second half.
La Roche 69, Mount Aloysius 51
CRESSON – Mount Aloysius fell to 3-9 on the season, after losing to La Roche College at home.
The Lady Mounties trailed by 12 at the half, but were unable to overcome a poor second half shooting performance. Ashley O’Shell scored 19 points in the losing effort.
Kari Whiteman led La Roche with 23 points. Ti'la Hardeman and Megan Snyder added 17 points and 10 points respectively. Snyder also pulled down 17 rebounds.

High School
Richland captures first at Elderton
NuMINE – With a 39-21 defeat of Punxsutawney, Richland ensured a 5-0 mark and clinched first place at Saturday’s Elderton Duals held at West Shamokin High School. Earlier in the day the Rams defeated Jefferson-Morgan (67-9), Elderton (50-18), Marion Center (64-9) and Kittanning (54-15).
Five Richland wrestlers – Tyler Morder, Alex Lehman, Russ Sichak, Chad Miller and Ryan Krause – went 5-0 on the day.
