It might not seem like it as another round of snow showers falls on the area Tuesday morning – but the region is in line for a significant warm-up over the coming week.

With Johnstown’s firefighters battling two separate porch fires Saturday, it wasn’t just the heat from the flames they had to contend with.

The region’s first winter storm is expected to coat the area with a frigid mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain throughout the day Thursday, leading to treacherous travel conditions and potential power outages, forecasters said Wednesday.
