PHILADELPHIA – A teenage classmate has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy a few blocks from West Philadelphia High School.

The 16-year-old suspect is charged with homicide, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment in connection with Nafis O’Neal’s death Friday.

Police say they found a weapon and bloody clothing at the 16-year-old’s home.

He’s jailed without bail.

Police say the 16-year-old stabbed the freshman in the chest at 46th and Market streets hours after an altercation in the school cafeteria.

About 200 people mourned O’Neal at a vigil Monday night.
