Dr. Anuj Malik, a neonatologist specializing in ill and premature newborns, is now caring for patients in Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Regional Intensive Care Nursery.
Board certified in general pediatrics, Malik is a graduate of Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Government Medical College in Solapur, India. He completed an internship at Philadelphia Hospital in Ambala City, India, and a general pediatrics residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.
He completed a neonatal perinatal medicine fellowship at West Virginia University Children’s Hospital in Morgantown.
Malik said his pediatrics training brought him to neonatal medicine.
“I had a lot of hands-on training, treating babies, and felt this was an area where I really could make a difference,” Malik said.
He is especially interested in the impact nutrition has on premature infants’ neurological development and has conducted research in the field.
“I am excited to be at Conemaugh and working with Dr. (John) Chan and the team at Conemaugh’s Regional Intensive Care Nursery. I look forward to building relationships with the community and my patients.”
