Murray sees shadow

CUMBERLAND, Md. – Bob Candy, owner of the Tri-State Zoological Park, said the groundhog Western Maryland Murray emerged from his tree stump and saw his shadow Thursday.

Groundhog Day festivities were held at Cumberland City Hall.

Tradition says if the groundhog sees his shadow, six more weeks of winter will follow. 

Punxsutawney Phil also made his famous weather prediction Thursday morning, emerging from his burrow to see his shadow as well.
