A Stoystown woman reportedly on her way to work Thursday morning was critically injured when her vehicle hit a man’s pickup head-on on Route 30 at Buckstown Road.

Marcella Lody, whose age was not released, was in critical condition Thursday night at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. Family said she was undergoing surgery for severe injuries to her legs.

Anthony Fasano of Scottdale, Westmoreland County, was traveling west on Route 30 when he crossed the center line and collided with a Jeep Liberty Lody was driving, according to police. Fasano was listed in fair condition Thursday night.

The wreck happened around 7 a.m., and police say charges may be pending against Fasano.

EMS crews wanted to transport the patients by medical helicopter, but weather kept the helicopters grounded. EMS crews from Somerset, along with firefighters from Shanksville, Stoystown and Central City responded. Shade Township police are investigating the wreck.
