Roxbury will have guest minister
The Rev. Wilbur H. Hosler, an ordained minister from Penn Run Church of the Brethren, will be the guest minister for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Roxbury Church of the Brethren, 112 Sell St., Johnstown.
His sermon, “Good Discipleship Brings Change,” is based on I Thessalonians 5:12-28.
Robert Shaffer will be the guest organist.
Hannah Taylor, who will sing “Awesome God,” will be the guest soloist.
Charles Allison will lead a Bible study at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Westminster moves to new location
Westminster Presbyterian Church, an Orthodox Presbyterian Church, will hold services in a building it purchased at 717 Main St., Windber (Scalp Level Borough).
The church formerly was located at 186 Old Walsall Road, Johnstown.
Services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Sundays, followed by a fellowship meal at the church. A second worship service will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday school will be held at 9:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 9.
To reach the new site, take the Scalp Level exit off Route 56 (2.2 miles from the Scalp Avenue exit of Route 219) and go 0.3 mile from the exit past the Scalp Level Fire Department building.
Evangelist will speak during revival services
Evangelist Curtis S. Silcox, founder of Good News Today International Ministries, based in Fayetteville, Tenn., will speak at the second summer tent revival of The Lighthouse, Morning Star Ministries.
Services will be held at 7 each evening from Sunday through Wednesday at the church, located on Route 240 between Cookport and Uniontown.
Churches schedule vacation Bible schools
The following vacation Bible school programs are planned:
“Take the Plunge,” for preschool through sixth-grade pupils, 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 856 Benshoff Hill Road, Johnstown.
“Great Bible Reef,” for children ages 3 to 14, 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, New Life Christian Fellowship, 194 Bellevue St., Johnstown.
“Getting on God’s Team,” open to all area children, 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, Ebensburg Evangelical Bible Church, Revloc.
The program ends with a family picnic at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

“Tumbleweed Gulch,” 6 to 8:10 p.m. Monday through Friday, Lakeside Community Church, 1006 Rowena Drive, Ebensburg.
A closing program and picnic will be held 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at the church.
Pilgrim church sets anniversary service
Pilgrim Church of God in Christ, 108 Poplar St., Johnstown, will hold a prepastoral anniversary service at 7 p.m. Thursday in honor of the Rev. Robert T. Scholfield.
Elder Stanford Webb Jr. and the congregation of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Indiana, is the guest.
