Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a missing Saltsburg-area woman, whose body was found by a hunter Wednesday afternoon in Derry Township, several miles north of this Westmoreland County town.

The body of Christina Michelle Sandolfini, 32, of Loyalhanna Township, just outside the Indiana County town of Saltsburg, was found in a wooded area on state-owned property, just west of Route 981 around 3:30 p.m.

The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner of death.

State police at Kiski Valley said Sandolfini had been visiting her husband, a patient at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, on Saturday.

Police said the victim left the hospital around 3:30 a.m. and was last seen about 8:50 a.m. along Bush Road near the Mannito Golf Course.

Sandolfini’s body was found 1 mile south of Bush Road and one-tenth of a mile west of Route 281, police said.
