Police say a 13-year-old girl was behind the wheel of a car that crashed in southwestern Pennsylvania, leaving her and another girl hospitalized.
Police say the girl swerved several times Saturday afternoon before leaving the road and hitting a tree. Investigators say she was ejected from the vehicle and had to be airlifted to a hospital along with her 16-year-old passenger. They sustained moderate injuries.
Investigators say neither girl was wearing a seat belt.
Officials did not release the girls’ names. WTAE-TV reported that charges have been filed against the 13-year-old driver, her parents and the passenger.
