A Military Academy Night will be held  at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn at 250 Market St., downtown Johnstown.

The event, which is free, is being held for high school juniors and sophomores who are considering entering the military academies, said Jim Penna, district director for U.S. Rep. Mark Critz,

D-Johnstown.

Representatives of West Point and the Naval and Air Force academies will attend, Penna said.

They will speak briefly and answer questions the young men and women have.

The event is being sponsored by the Holiday Inn and hosted by Critz’s office. Light refreshments will be provided by the Holiday Inn.

Parents are encouraged to attend, Penna added.

“The event is for students who are thinking about attending an academy, even if they haven’t made up their minds,” Penna said.

The students will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with the academy representatives, he noted.
