The First Commonwealth Johnstown Film Festival wraps up at 8 tonight at the Heritage Discovery Center in Cambria City with a showing of the best shorts and the award winners.
A specialty beer tasting will precede the event in the James V. Saly Courtyard at the Heritage Discovery Center.
The winning films are:
• First place: “Arrivederci, Signore Fuccini” by Kev Stock of Ebensburg. A madcap short that tackles racism, horse racing, illegal gambling, pawn shop etiquette and the going rate for TV-VCR combos on the gray market.
• Second place: “Reunion” by Adam Kargman of Los Angeles. Set at a 10-year high school reunion, this film tells the story of the victims of the massacre in Columbine, Colo., and what their lives might have been like had they not been • Third place: “Follow Me Down” by Lee “Bo” Whittle of Johnstown. A psychological thriller about a man with a very guilty conscience.
Tickets are $15 and include two beer tastings, light refreshments and popcorn. The cost for JAHA members and students is $10. Tickets are available online at www.jaha.org, at the Discovery Center gift shop or at the door.
