Comedian Jay Leno, shown during a performance on Oct. 11, 2014, is scheduled to appear March 11 at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in downtown Johnstown.

The chin is coming to Johnstown.

Acclaimed late-night TV show host Jay Leno will make a rare appearance at 7:30 p.m. March 11 at Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

The show is being underwritten by McAneny Bros., an Ebensburg-based produce and wholesale food business, which is hosting its annual trade show at the Pasquerilla Conference Center across the street from the arena.

McAneny Bros. retains tickets for the company’s customer base, then the rest of the tickets go to the War Memorial for sale to the public.

Leno is a stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, corporate speaker, TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic and philanthropist.

Leno began hosting “The Tonight Show” in May of 1992 after serving as guest host on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” as far back as September 1987.

He first appeared as a guest on the show in 1977.

“The Tonight Show” was honored by the Television Academy with an Emmy for outstanding comedy, variety or music series and took home the trophy for favorite late night show in the annual TV Guide Awards, which were determined by voting viewers.

Leno was recently installed in the Television Academy’s Broadcast Hall of Fame, has been invited to have his papers installed in the Library of Congress and received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
