A former Somerset County couple has died from injuries sustained in a high-speed collision on Georgia's coast.
Donna Lalley, 50, and Kent Lalley, 57, died Saturday at a Savannah hospital, after being struck in their Dodge van by an oncoming Chevrolet Camaro that was traveling at a high rate of speed in St. Simon, police told the The Brunswick News.
The newspaper reported that the Camaro's driver, who died in the crash, was likely impaired at the time.
Obituaries for the couple were not yet posted Tuesday but the funeral arrangements were apparently being organized in St. Simon, Georgia, where a memorial service was planned for June 17.
The couple moved to the Georgia community two years ago to fulfill a dream of living life on an island, the newspaper reported.
