Shanksville resident Jeff Ray displayed his hometown pride for all to see.

Hometown America.

Striding up to the overlook to the Flight 93 National Memorial – holding a sign that read “I did not forget” – Ray unfurled a flag and draped it over his shoulders.

Referring to the killing of terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden by U.S. Special Forces, Ray said, “They fought for every one of us – for you, and you, and you over there.”

He pointed to the reporters gathering around him.

“We waited how long and it finally came.”

A steady stream of visitors found their way to the memorial today, expressing emotions on bin Laden’s death that ranged from overwhelming joy to a sense of justice fulfilled.
