SOMERSET – State police in Somerset County were seeking a Glencoe man who damaged a utility pole in a car crash Wednesday night along Berlin Plank Road in Brothersvalley Township. The man turned himself in to police Thursday morning.
The accident occurred just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the report filed by Somerset state police, Walter D. Haines, 63, was driving north on Plank Road when he failed to negotiate a right curve and stop for a stop sign. His vehicle then hit a roadside utility pole and became stuck.
Haines, who was uninjured, reportedly fled the scene on foot.
No utility outages were reported as a result of the crash.
As of Thursday night, Haines had yet to be arraigned.
