"The Velveteen Rabbit"

Bright Star Touring Theatre will stage two children's productions on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center gallery at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County. "One Small Step: The Real Life Journey to Outer Space" will be presented at 3 p.m. and "The Velveteen Rabbit" will be performed at 7 p.m.

Beer tasting

Books & Brews will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ligonier Valley Library, 120 W. Main St.

The event will feature beer tastings, musical entertainment, food and raffles.

Proceeds will benefit the library.

Novel production

A strawberry festival will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, 1068 Bedford St., Johnstown.

There also will be a kids’ corner, face painting, plant sale and bake sale.

History walk

An 1889 walking downtown tour will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Saturday beginning at the Johnstown Flood Museum, 304 Washington St., Johnstown.

A lower town walking tour will be offered at 1 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Thursday beginning at the Johnstown Flood Museum.

The tours will feature flood-surviving buildings, photographs and stories.

Cost is $5 or $3 with museum membership.

Talent night

An open mic night will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Off Pitt Street Theater Co., 110 W. Pitt St., Bedford.

The event will feature musicians, bands, spoken-word artists, comedians, poets and storytellers.

Performers can choose a time-slot on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tea creativity

“CreativiTEA” will be on display through June 5 at Gallery on Gazebo in downtown Johns-town.
