Vesta L. Garland

GARLAND – Vesta L., 101, West Bolivar, went to be with the Lord Oct. 2, 2008, at Hilltop Manor, Donegal. Born June 6, 1907, in West Bolivar, daughter of the late William and Mae (Getty Crusan) Muir. Also preceded in death by husband, Joseph A. Garland; daughter, Doris St. Clair; infant son, James Homer Garland; grandson, Lynn Jeffrey Garland; infant granddaughter, Jennifer Garland; infant great-granddaughter, Jillian Howe-Perkin; sisters, Helen and Ethel Shetler and Claire West; and brothers, Clyde and Glen Muir. Survived by children, Leona Howe, West Bolivar; Lee Garland, and wife, Caroline, Bolivar R.D.; Jo-Ann Riddell, New Florence; and Rex Garland, Robinson; grandchildren, Carol, Andrea, Sue, Michael, Tracy, Barry, Rodney, Randy Sr., Kimberly, Eric, Cristal and Bethany; great-grandchildren, Deanna, Brent, Allyson, Alysha, Kevin, DeAnn, Shannon, Erin, Owen, Stephanie, Zachary, Christopher, Nathan, Adrian, Clint, Clay, Polly, Scott, Keith, Rebecca, Jason, Randy Jr., Elizabeth, Alanna, Logan and Marquetta; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Oak Grove Church of Christ. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, and from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Church of Christ, Ligonier, with her beloved pastor, Charles Burd, officiating.
