AMENTI – Samuel J. “Sam,” 55, Daisytown, passed away July 17, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. Born Nov. 2, 1953, in Johnstown, son of Marion and Virginia (German) Amenti. Survived by mother; loving wife of 33 years, Barbara; daughter, Dawn, married to Jeff Dunbar; and son, Sam, married to Marsha (Birk). He was Pappy to Hallie Amenti, who was his pride, and L.J. Dunbar, who was his joy; brother, Larry, married to Cindy (Malzi); sister, Anna, married to George Yanko; and best buddy, Rick Barkley; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and loving dog, Zowie. Sam was employed at Laurel Food Service for 25 years. He was a 1972 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School, a member of Cambria County Firemen’s Association and Little League Umpire Conemaugh Valley Youth League. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Sam was a devoted and loving husband, father, pappy, brother, son and friend, and will be sadly missed. All who knew and loved him were blessed to have known him. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, the Rev. Robert L. Ruston. Friends received 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 19, Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Interment, Oak Cemetery.
