VAUGHT – Philip W., 91, Richland Township, died Sept. 30, 2008, at his residence. Born Sept. 28, 1917, in Cresson, son of Clement and Emma (Diehl) Vaught. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Dolores (Ruth) Vaught; second wife, Thelma M. (Farabaugh-Burkey) Vaught; son, Philip A. Vaught Sr.; grandson, Eric Vaught; sister, Marion “Mame” Nicholson; and brothers, Don, Tom and Frank. Survived by his son, Bernard J., married to Sandra (Brandon), Geistown; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Jane, wife of Jack McCann, Pittsburgh; and close friend, Annabelle Whitaker, Richland. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, where he was a longtime usher. Retired U.S. Air Force veteran of Word War II. Retired from Penelec as a purchaser with 35 years service. K of C Msgr. James E. Fitzgibbons Council 8244, Reserve Officers Association; Amperes Club; and VFW Menoher Post 155. Philip will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904 or St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, in memory of Philip.
