FETTERMAN – Mildred I., 88, Academy Drive, Portage, formerly of Summerhill, died Oct. 26, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 22, 1920, in Mineral Point, daughter of Harry Edgar and Martha Jane (Burkhart) Reighard. Preceded in death by parents; husband, the Rev. James I. Fetterman, who died June 13, 2007; sister, Alice Cramer; and brothers, Eugene, Roger and Gerald. Survived by children, Ruth, wife of Gilbert Filer, Apollo; Vivian, wife of George Waltermire, Leavittsburg, Ohio; Carolyn, wife of Theodore Rzeszut Jr., Johnstown; James E., married to Joyce Carney, Kenwood; Mary, wife of Jack London, Norcross, Ga.; Nadine, wife of the Rev. Brian Covert, Graham, N.C.; Arlene, wife of Joseph Johns, Jackson Township; Kenneth, married to Susan Nanna, South Fork; and Sharon, wife of Paul Fiala, Summerhill; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; sister, Isobel Emigh, Butler; brothers, Robert (Arlene) Reighard, Nanty Glo, and Ronald (Nancy), Hertford, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was dedicated to her husband, children and her church. She was a member of Wesleyan Holiness Church, where she was a church pianist. In her free time, Mildred enjoyed reading, needlepoint, puzzles and watching and feeding the birds. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork. Viewing at Wesleyan Holiness Church, Allen Street, Portage, one hour prior to funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Officiating, son-in-law, the Rev. Brian Covert, assisted by the Rev. David Walter. Private interment at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, East Taylor Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Evangelistic Faith Mission.
