GLOVER – Irene, 100, Johnstown, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2008. Born Feb. 27, 1908, in Dover, Ga., daughter of Elvira Reed Wright married to Silas W. Wright. She was the last of 13 siblings. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hamp Glover Sr.; sons, Henry Jr. “Ricky” and David “Buck”; and daughter, Freddie Mae Johnson. Survived by daughter, Delores A., married to Rev. Julius C. Porcher Jr.; son, Hardy “Jiffy,” married to Carole Smith; and grandchildren: Lori A. Porcher; David C. Porcher, married to Janiece; David T. Glover; Lamar Porcher, married to Jamie; Jessica, married to Martin, Boswell; and Quenteen Robinson, married to Stephanie. A host of great and great-great-grandchildren, close nephews, Robert and Herbert White, along with a host of lovable nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Close to heart Robert L. Roebuck, Mrs. Leah Floyd, Hilda Roebuck and Dorothy Berry. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend to all that knew her. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 400 Pine St., and from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Friday, the Rev. Dr. Ralph E. Johnson Sr. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Arrangements by Frank Duca Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, Jackson and Locust streets.
