Lady Cats blanked by Seton Hill’s Gilarski

The Pitt-Johnstown women surrendered just one goal, but it proved to be enough to give WVIAC rival Seton Hill a 1-0 victory on the UPJ campus.

The Lady Cats fell to 3-10-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the conference. The Griffins improved to 7-6-1 and 5-2-0.

Desiree Gonzalez took Danielle Owens’ free kick in the 17th minute and found the back of the net behind UPJ goalkeeper Stephanie Paha for the lone goal. Paha faced 19 shots, including 10 on goal, and fell to 3-8-0. Seton Hill’s Sam Gilarski saw 11 shots and made three saves.

The Lady Cats travel to Bloomsburg on Saturday and to Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday for non-conference matches before hosting a WVIAC match against the University of Charleston (WV) on October 17.
