The Rev. Kenneth D. Kelly Jr. has been installed as pastor of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Johnstown and SS. Peter & Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Central City.
The congregations belong to the Central Circuit of the SELC District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
The Rev. Carl Krueger, president of the SELC District, served as installer and preacher.
Lectors were the Rev. Arthur Baisch of the Concordia Personal Care Facility of Cabot, Butler County, and the Rev. Reholma McCants, pastor and administrator of Unity Lutheran Church and Children’s Outreach Mission in Pittsburgh.
The liturgist was the Rev. Jerome Panzigrau, pastor of John Huss Lutheran Church in Arnold, Westmoreland County, and St. John Lutheran Church in Brackenridge, Allegheny County.
The Rev. Donald Hayas, pastor emeritus, of Lakewood, Ohio, also participated.
Kelly earned a master of divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was ordained on June 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Youngstown, Ohio.
He is married with three children.
A reception was held at Anthony’s Restaurant in Geistown.
Armagh UM to host concert
Dan Schall of Zelienople, Butler County, will perform at 6:30 tonight at Armagh United Methodist Church.
Through his music and testimony, he conveys his love for Jesus Christ and his concern for his fellow man’s eternity.
His ministry focuses on encouragement and God’s love for man.

Picnic for singles at Idlewild Park
Christian Singles Fellowship, Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, will sponsor a singles picnic for all denominations on Sunday at Idlewild Park in Ligonier.

St. John’s will hold blessing of vehicles
St. John’s Orthodox Church, 427 First St., Conemaugh, will bless vehicles (cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc.) following the 9 a.m. Sunday Liturgy to commemorate the feast of St. Elias.
Guest minister to lead Sunday service
The Rev. George E. Feathers Sr., an ordained minister from Arbutus Church of the Brethren, will be the guest minister at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Roxbury Church of the Brethren, 112 Sell St., Johnstown.
His sermon, “Don’t Fall Victim to Satan’s Deceit,” is based on Genesis 3:1-6.
Sean Gibson, guest pianist, will provide music.
Abundant Life sets prepastoral service
Abundant Life Ministry will hold a prepastoral service at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Sanoma Saloon of the Holiday Inn, 250 Market St., downtown Johnstown.
The husband and wife team, Elders Lois and James Newton of Mannah from on High Ministries in Pittsburgh, will be the special guests.
Abundant Life Singers will minister in song.

Virginia Churchmen in concert Sunday
The Churchmen of Virginia will perform a gospel concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, near Jerome.
VBS is scheduled at three churches
The following churches will hold vacation Bible school:
Windber Calvary United Methodist Church, 1800 Stockholm Ave., 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday for children ages 3 through grade 8.
The theme will be “Beach Party.”

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Main St., Berlin, and Berlin Brethren Church, 620 Main St., will hold joint classes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Space voyagers, preschoolers through fifth-graders, will join the crew of C.C. Tours on an intergalactic journey through Cosmic City and tour guides will lead space voyagers through the city’s stellar attractions.
Junior and senior high classes will be taught by Youth Pastor Tom Sprowls Jr. at the Lutheran church.
Adult classes will be held at the Brethren church with the Rev. John Harmon as the Sunday leader; Anne Onstead, Monday and Thursday; Tom Calvert, Tuesday; and Norman Menhorn, Wednesday.

A triduum in honor of St. Anne will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday through July 26 at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, 117 Clinton St., Johnstown.
Dixie Melody Boys to present concert
Dixie Melody Boys, a Southern gospel quartet, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at Pike Grace Christian Center in Johnstown.
The group was organized more than four decades ago and was nominated for a Grammy and numerous Fan Awards.
