Minister to lead Shade Creek service
The Rev. Dennis Godin will be the guest minister for March at Shade Creek-Ridge Church of the Brethren, Ridge Road, outside of Hooversville.
Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Sundays.
St. Stephen’s to host Eucharistic Day
St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, 414 Fourth Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown, will host a Lenten Eucharistic Day on Sunday.
The Eucharistic Day will begin at the end of the 10:30 a.m. Mass and conclude with vespers and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 6:30 p.m.
Monsignor Michael Becker, pastor of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in St. Michael, is guest homilist.
Rockwood pastor will speak in St. Michael
The Rev. Patrick Walsh, pastor of Rockwood Alliance Church, will speak during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Park View Alliance Church, 148 Chapel St., St. Michael.
Communion will be distributed during the service.
Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m.
Adult/youth group to perform Sunday
Members of the Continental Singers will bring their 40th anniversary performance to the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Beulah United Methodist Church, 716 Bedford St., Johnstown.
Since the group’s formation as a nonprofit ministry in 1967, the Continentals have spread the truth of Jesus Christ through music on more than 700 tours and 45,000 live concerts worldwide.
The singers, between the ages of 16 and 28, combine contemporary Christian music with energizing choreography and personal testimony.
A covered-dish dinner will follow the performance.
Church organist plans recital
Bryan Lohr, organist and director of music at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 202 W. Union St., Somerset, will present a recital at 4 p.m. Sunday as part of the church’s third annual Lenten series.
Music of César Franck will be featured.
Lohr is a student in the artist diploma program at Carnegie Mellon University, the first organist to take up residency in the program in that institution’s history.
He is an active recitalist and teacher, who earned a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and an undergraduate degree from the Julliard School.
He resides in Hooversville with his wife, Catherine.

Bowserdale UM sets covered-dish dinner
A covered-dish dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday at Bowserdale United Methodist Church, 894 Cooper Ave. in the Tanneryville section of Johnstown.
A contemporary Christian service, featuring Cloud of Grace, a local musical group, will begin at 7.
Hymn sing Sunday at St. Paul’s Evangelical
The churches of the West End will hold a hymn sing at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1348 Virginia Ave., Johnstown.
A social time will follow.
‘Last Chance’ to be staged in Fishertown
“Last Chance,” a drama presented by Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames, will be presented at 7 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Spring Meadow Family Worship Center in Fishertown.
Admission is free and child care will be available.
There will be no Wednesday evening service.

Lenten service Wednesday in Berlin
The congregations of Holy Trinity, Berlin Brethren, Trinity United Church of Christ and Three Seasons Community Church will offer a Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Main St., Berlin.
