Democratic campaigns turn attention to Pa.
Associated Press
HARRISBURG —
The Democratic presidential campaigns will hit the ground in Pennsylvania in earnest today, with events featuring the candidates in the eastern half of the state.
At noon, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will appear at a rally in Harrisburg before she heads to Temple University for another rally at 6 p.m. Her rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, will hold a town hall meeting with workers at a Gamesa wind turbine plant in Fairless Hills at 2 p.m. after he tours the facility.
Former President Bill Clinton will campaign for his wife in the western part of the state. He will attend rallies at 12:30 p.m. at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington and 4:45 p.m. at Center Area High School in Beaver County. In between, he will meet voters at the Canonsburg Area Senior Center in Canonsburg at 2 p.m.
On Wednesday, the former president will be in Erie and Johnstown.

Pittsburgh mayor being courted by candidates
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl is being courted by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
Bill Clinton called Ravenstahl on Friday, and Obama called him Monday. Ravenstahl described the conversations as “just very vanilla” and said he’s uncommitted.
“I told them that I look forward to meeting in person with them to talk about some of the things that I feel are important in the election, and will probably have a chance to do so in the very near future,” he said.
Ravenstahl will be a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, according to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.

Hillary Clinton, Rendell plan parade appearance
SCRANTON, Pa. — Hillary Clinton says she and Gov. Ed Rendell will appear at Scranton’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
In answer to a shout from the crowd, the Democratic presidential hopeful told Monday’s Scranton High School rally, “I love the Irish.” And Clinton says she will return with Rendell for the parade on Saturday.
Parade association President Thomas Cawley says organizers were expecting about 10,000 people for the event. Cawley says when word gets out that Clinton and Rendell will appear, “it will bring a lot more people downtown.”
