CAMERON - Betty

CAMERON - Betty, 81, of Johnstown, died Sept. 6, 2007. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Moskal Funeral Home, West End, where the Rev. Kyle Cannon will hold funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Calvary United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.



HENRY - Patricia (Nelson)

HENRY - Patricia (Nelson), 69, Johnstown, died Sept. 6, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Friends received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, corner of Jackson and Locusts streets, where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., the Rev. Roland Catterall. Private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.



KEIM - Charles W.

KEIM - Charles W., 86, Davidsville, died peacefully after an extended illness, Sept. 7, 2007, at Laurel View Village. Born June 27, 1921, in Conemaugh Twp., Somerset County, son of Clayton and Rebecca (Thomas) Keim. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, O. Glenn and Robert M. Keim, and daughter-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Keim. Survived by wife of 64 years, the former Ruth E. Berkey; children, Thomas A. Keim, Boxborough, Mass.; David C., and wife, Rosemary, Stamping Ground, Ky.; and Barbara L., married to Thomas Korber, Hollsopple; grandchildren, Stephanie and Christina Keim; Bryan and Jennifer Korber; Joshua Keim and Shannon Hedger; and five great grandchildren; brother, Carman, and wife, Florence, Davidsville; sisters, Helen, married to Alfred Weaver, Boswell; and Marian, married to Owen Stevens, Hollsopple; sisters-in-law, Marie Keim, Hollsopple; Shirley Keim, Somerset; and Wilma, married to Rev. John Eash, Hollsopple. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of former Boswell High School. An Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War, where he was a combat engineer and earned the rank of staff sergeant. Retired plumber and pipe fitter for the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union Local 354. Lifelong member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, where he was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and served on the finance commission. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and was an avid gardener. Charlie will best be remembered for his quick wit and generosity. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home -- Cremation Services, 109 Church Rd., Davidsville. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Tuesday at Maple Spring Church, the Rev. Robert Thacker and the Rev. John Eash officiating. Interment Maple Spring Cemetery with graveside military rites. Donations in Charlie's memory may be given to Laurel View Village Disaster Fund, 2000 Cambridge Dr., Davidsville, Pa. 15928.

LAYMAN - Cecil C., 91, of Richland, passed away Sept. 7, 2007, at Windber Hospice surrounded by family and friends. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday. The Greater Johnstown Lodge 0538, Free and Accepted of Pa., will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum.

MARGUCCI - Guy, 86, Johnstown, died Sept. 7, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital. Member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Monsignor George B. Flinn, VG. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Committal, St. Anthony Cemetery. Military graveside rites by Conemaugh Valley Detachment Marine Corps League.



SHAFFER - Julia

SHAFFER - Julia, 82, Moxham, died Sept. 5, 2007, at LaurelWood Convalescent Center. Born Feb. 5, 1925, in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Hutcko) Grunza. Survived by children, Charlotte Boud; Richard Shaffer, and wife, Colleen; and Todd Shaffer, and friend, Janette, all of Johnstown. Also six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends received from 6 p.m. until time of the service, 7 p.m. Monday at Hindman Funeral Homes -- Crematory Inc., Chandler Avenue, the Rev. Randall Bain. Inurnment, Berkey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sara Care Hospice.



SHETLER - Hoyt William

SHETLER - Hoyt William, became an angel Sept. 6, 2007, at McGee Women's Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was the son of Eric and Tina (Jarvis) Shetler, New Florence. Also survived by brothers. Dylan and Noah Burkett and Garit and Shooter Shetler, all at home; and Deric Shetler, Missouri; maternal grandparents, William and Sandra Jarvis, Bolivar; paternal grandfather, Leroy "Hammer" Shetler, New Florence. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Billie Shetler. Private service and committal at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Pastor Ron Fish. Family assisted by Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence.



WINGARD - David, E.

WINGARD - David, E., 68, Richland Twp., passed away Sept. 7, 2007, at home. Born Jan. 23, 1939, in Richland Twp., son of the late Ervin and Eva (Giffin) Wingard. Preceeded in death by sister, Mary Hostetler and infant siblings. Survived by wife, the former Vera L. Maldet; children, Deborah, wife of T.J. Beatty, Davenport, Fla.; Robert, married to the former Cindy Mihalko, Windber; Kimberly, Richland Twp.; sister, Leona Miller, Davidsville, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Retired from Pepsi Bottling Group, a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany. David was an avid NASCAR fan. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Cenral Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev Donald E. Krestar. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum. David was loved by all who knew him.

WRIGHT - Frank G. "Hap," 65, Nanty Glo, passed away Sept. 7, 2007, at St. Benedict Manor. Born Jan. 1, 1942, in Johnstown, son of the late George and Helen (Dudash) Wright. Preceded in death by brother, Clifford. Survived by brothers, Gary (Karen), Nanty Glo; and Robert (Diane), Harrisburg; and special companion, Dollene Rummel, Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation's in Hap's memory may be made to the Nanty Glo Food Pantry.
