ALVAREZ – Zachary
ALVAREZ – Zachary, 9, Ebensburg, died Aug. 28, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 7, 1998, in Columbia, Md., son of Joseph “Andy” and Christine (Mock) Alvarez. Preceded in death by sister, Diana; maternal grandfather, William Mock; and paternal grandparents, Edna Welch and Joseph G. Alvarez. Survived by parents and these brothers and sisters: Paul Rager and Amy Rager, both at home; and Lisa Bishop, Andy Alvarez Jr., Michael Alvarez and Andrea Colaras, all of Maryland; and maternal grandmother, Lucy Mock, Ebensburg; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Joe Strittmatter Jr. Zach was a fourth-grade student at Central Cambria Elementary School. He enjoyed Cub Scouts, Clover 4H Club, bowling, horseback riding and working at the Strittmatter farm. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Thursday. Funeral Mass at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, Monsignor Timothy Swope. Committal, St. Michael’s Cemetery, Loretto. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family in Zach’s memory. The family wishes to thank the emergency responders, Dr. Scott Magley and the emergency staff at Memorial Medical Center.

BIANCOTTI – Mia M. (Coudyzer)
BIANCOTTI – Mia M. (Coudyzer), 87, Westlake, Ohio, formerly of Johnstown, died Aug. 23, 2007, in Westlake. Born Oct. 8, 1919, in Belgium. Preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Anna (Van Cauwenberghe) Coudyzer, and her three brothers, Jozef, Andre and Gabriel. Survived by husband of 62 years, Mario Biancotti of Westlake, and daughter, Christine (Jerry) Snodgrass of Brunswick, Ohio. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and sewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at St. Clement Church, the Rev. William Rosenbaum officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Mausoleum. MIKESIC – Francis R., 73, Ebensburg, formerly of Stone Street, Johnstown, died Aug. 28, 2007, at Laurel Crest Manor. Born Aug. 11, 1934, in Johnstown, son of Matthew and Mary (Zahoran) Mikesic. Preceded in death by parents and wife, the former Carlene A. Fabina. Survived by these children: Gary, Washington, Pa.; Linda, wife of Daniel Adkins, Texas; Chris, married to the former Nora Sayers, and Bradley Mikesic, both of Johnstown; and grandchildren, Matthew and Gabrella. A brother of George and Edwin Mikesic, both of Johnstown, and Matthew Mikesic, South Carolina. Retired employee of the Car Shop, Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Co. A former union shop plant grievance man for Franklin Local 2635. An avid Steelers and Notre Dame fan. Loved to bet at the racetrack. A member of St. Rochus Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Charles Amershek. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, where vigil for the deceased will be held Thursday.
