Two South Fork men face charges after a road-rage incident along Frankstown Road in suburban Johnstown.
Arthur D. Moss, 22, of Portage Street, and Shawn E. Lewis, 20, of Main Street are accused of confronting four people in another car, making threats and shouting racial slurs. Moss is white; Lewis is black and the alleged victims are white, Conemaugh Township police Officer Tammi Collier said.
Those in the other car told police Moss and Lewis were in a vehicle that overtook theirs on Frankstown Road on April 30 in Richland Township. When the first car slowed down near the Airport Road intersection in Conemaugh Township, the car with Moss and Lewis passed. Moss was leaning out the passenger window, shouting at the driver and passengers, police said.
Lewis then stopped the vehicle and both men approached the other vehicle shouting “crackers” and profanities and threatening harm, police said.
Each opened a door in the other vehicle, threatening those inside. When Lewis slammed the door, the window shattered, police said.
Lewis and Moss are both charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, four counts of terrorist threats and four counts of ethnic intimidation.
Both were notified by summons and are scheduled for arraignment June 6.
