The four seasons are on display at a local arts center.
“Nature’s Gifts,” an exhibit by Ebensburg artist Theresa Prostejovsky, is on display through Oct. 25 in the Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center Gallery at Community Arts Center of Cambria County, 1217 Menoher Blvd., Westmont.
The exhibit features works in watercolor, colored pencil, graphite and mixed media.
“I’ve always loved nature,” Prostejovsky said. “Nature is my primary subject.”
She enjoys creating watercolors and is fascinated by graphite, she said.
She becomes completely absorbed in her work.
“I enjoy it, and I get lost in it,” she said.
She said she’s been painting for “20-plus years.”
She and her husband, Richard, reside on a farm with a dog, cat and several horses.
The farm is a great place for her, she said.
“It can be so quiet and gives you a lot of time,” she said.
Richard Prostejovsky is a retired consultant. The couple have three adult children.
Rose Mary Hagadus, Community Arts Center executive director, said Theresa Prostejovsky paints in a delicate and gentle style.
“She is considered to be one of the really outstanding nature artists in the area,” Hagadus said.
Prostejovsky is past presi-dent of the Pennsylvania Chapter, American Artists Professional League, and the Pennsylvania Artists Professional Association.
She is a member of Allied Artists of Johnstown and Indiana (Pa.) Artists Association.
She has studied with and participated in workshops conducted by a number of local and nationally known artists.
One of the first classes in watercolor she participated in was taught by the late Ralph Clemenson, a well-known local artist whose media was mainly watercolor landscapes.
