Fort Ligonier Days will celebrate Ligonier’s 250th birthday when it is held today through Sunday at Fort Ligonier and various sites in downtown Ligonier.
The historic celebration will feature musical entertainment, battle re-creations, a variety of food and crafters, and a huge parade at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Free shuttles will be available to main festival sites from Ligonier Valley High School from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Admission to the fort is $8 for adults and $4.75 for children ages 6 to 14. Admission to the festival is free.

Festival of foliage
The 44th annual Bedford Fall Foliage Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in downtown Bedford.
The festival will feature more than 400 crafters and 100 food booths and a variety of free musical entertainment.
An antique car parade will roll through downtown streets at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Parking is available at the Bedford County Fairgrounds on Business Route 30 and at Old Bedford Village on Business Route 220 for a cost of $5 per vehicle.
Free shuttle service will be available between the parking sites and the festival.
Hallowboo
Hallowboo, a family-friendly fright fest, will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 18-19 and 25-26 at Idlewild Park, Ligonier.
All-day admission is $19.95 for children ages 3 and older.
Children younger than 2 will be admitted free.
Discount coupons are available at participating Giant Eagle locations.
Season ticket holders will be admitted free.

Ghoulish park
Phantom Fright Nights will be haunting Kennywood Park in West Mifflin on Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1.
Ghoulish hours will be 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., with a bonus bewitching night from 7 to 11 Sunday.
No Halloween masks, costumes or makeup are permitted.
Tickets are $23 at the gate and $20 at participating Giant Eagle locations.

Fright fests
Huston’s Haunted Hollow will bring frightfully good fun to Somerset County today and Saturday and Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1 at 126 Woodland Road, Rockwood.
The scene of the scarefest is six miles south of Somerset on Route 281.
Haunting hours are from dusk to 11 p.m.
Admission is $12 per person for adults and $10 for children younger than 10.
The cost for groups of 20 or more is $10. Groups must be preregistered.

Guests will take a frightening step back in time from 7 to 11 tonight and Saturday and Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1 as history is replayed at The Haunted Hayloft at 887 West Mud Pike in Rockwood.
There will be death on the gallows as the Nicely hangings are relived.

Halloween haunts
Weakland Farms Corn Maze will be held through Nov. 2 at the farm off the Route 164 Portage Exit of Route 219 North.
Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 1 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Admission is $6. Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted free.

The annual Harvest Festival will be held Fridays through Sundays in October at Faranda’s Farm, 1171 Penn Ave., Hollsopple.
Hours are 4 p.m. to dusk Fridays, 11 a.m. to dusk Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Special Halloween hours will be 4 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
On flashlight nights, which are Oct. 17-18, 24-25 and 31, Faranda’s will be open until 9:30.
Admission to the maze is $10.

Vale Wood Farms Pumpkin Patch will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 19 at the farm in Loretto.
Fall Hayride Farm Tours, which stop at the pumpkin patch, will be held through Oct. 17 at Valewood.
Tours are for school groups of at least 15, including adult chaperones, and must be prearranged.
Admission for the tours is $4 per person.
To get to Valewood Farms, take the Munster Exit from Route 22 and turn toward Munster. Follow signs for Vale Wood Road and take the first right.

Classic terror
“An Evening With Poe” will be presented by the Parlor Players from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Oct. 18 at Dillweed Bed and Breakfast, Route 403, Dilltown.
A dessert and gourmet coffee hour will be presented at 7, with the performance beginning at 8.
The players will present some of Edgar Allan Poe’s tales of mystery, including “The Raven” and “The Black Cat.”
The cost is $16 per person, and seating is very limited.

Out of this world
“Journey to the Stars,” the opening concert of Johnstown Symphony Orchestra’s 80th season, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, Richland Township.
The concert will feature the world premiere of “A Time for Heroes,” which was written for the symphony’s 80th anniversary season and will be dedicated to the people of Johnstown.
Guest pianist Andrew Armstrong will perform George Gershwin’s “Piano Concerto in F.”
Tickets are $26 for reserved seating, $22 for general admission, $15 for seniors and $10 for students.

Speed daters
Due to popular demand, “Speed Dating on the Incline: Professionals Night” will return to Johnstown at 6 tonight at the Inclined Plane and City View Bar & Grill.
The event, which is sponsored by Young Professionals of the Alleghenies and CamTran, will be two groups, young professionals age 21-45 and professionals age 45 and over.
The event will begin with check-in at City View from 6 to 7.
Daters will move into the Incline cars for dating, which gives them three to eight minutes to get to know their fellow daters, at 7 and be back at City View by 8 to enjoy the sounds of Glenn Henry until 11:30.
Participants will hand in a score sheet indicating whether they want to get to know any of their dates better, and matches will be distributed around 9.
Participants must register online before the event to secure a spot at www.inclined-plane.com or www.youngpa.org.
An entry fee of $15.99 will be paid online.
Lion’s kingdom
The magical land of Narnia will come alive when “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is performed by Theatreworks at 2 p.m. Sunday at Arcadia Theater, 1418 Graham Ave., Windber.

Hoops and alley-oops
The Harlem Wizards will bring show basketball to the area when they go up against the staff and alumni of Windber Area High School at 2 p.m. Saturday in the school’s gymnasium.
The Wizards will put on a special halftime show, and there will be a free autograph session at the end of the game.
The school’s parent-teacher organization will hold a silent auction/basket party from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the auxiliary gym. Admission to the party is free.
Tickets will be available at the door for $8. Seating is limited. Doors will open at 1 for the game.
Proceeds will benefit Windber Area Elementary School.

American salute
“Anthem for America” will be presented by River City Brass Band at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, Richland Township.
The concert will feature patriotic marches and hymns, with guest artist Mikylah McTeer on violin, and the premiere of “Black and Gold Overture” in celebration of Pittsburgh’s 250th anniversary.

An exhibit of mining antiques and mining lamps will be on display from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Living and Learning Conference Center at Pitt-Johnstown, Richland Township.

Music medley
A recital series will be held at noon Tuesdays in October at First Lutheran Church, 415 Vine St., downtown Johnstown.
The series features Matthew Thomas, organ, on Tuesday; Carl Schultz, piano, on Oct. 21; and a haunted organ recital on Oct. 28.
A luncheon will follow each recital.
Greatest show
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus presentation of “Boom A Ring” will land in Johnstown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cambria County War Memorial Arena, 326 Napoleon St., Johnstown.
