WINDBER – Medical advances that are improving outcomes for breast cancer patients are creating new challenges for those trying to study cancer cells.
WINDBER – For all the research advances and new technology, breast cancer treatment boils down to removing the tumors with surgery and killing whatever cells remain with radiation and medicines.
WINDBER – While one section of Windber Research Institute scientists looks at proteins and other message-substances produced human cells, another section is examining the DNA makeup of the cancer tumor tissue.Both areas of study involve analyzing a lot of information.
