Maurers mark 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas S. Maurer of Brownstown have marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

The Mass was followed by a reception given by their children and grandchildren at Ace’s in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

Mr. Maurer and the former Gertrude L. Bennett were married Oct. 31, 1959, at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church.

Mr. Maurer is a retired steelworker.

The Maurers are members of Resurrection Roman Catholic Church.

They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

The Maurers are the parents of eight children: Thomas of Midothian, Va.; Beth of Altoona; Mary Ann of Conway, Ark.; Julie of Altoona; Micki of Marysville, Perry County; Michael of Harrisburg; Melissa of Dallastown, York County; and Ed of Marysville.

There are 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
