Manges couple to note 70th

Mr. and Mrs. Harold “Poose” B. Manges of Windber will note their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by family from 2 to 6 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Rummel Church of the Brethren hall.
Mr. Manges and the former Arlene V. Weyant were mar-ried Sept. 3, 1938, in Cum-berland, Md., by the Rev. Kulp.
Mr. Manges was born in Windber, son of Curtis Lee and Shiloh Ellen (Wirick) Manges.
Mrs. Manges was born in Windber, daughter of William M. and Bertha M. (Lehman) Weyant.
Mr. Manges served in the Army during World War II from 1944-1946.
He worked for 20 years in the Berwind Mines and retired in 1980 from Windber Area Water Authority.
Mrs. Manges worked in the Hospitality Shop and cafeteria at Windber Hospital.
They are lifelong members of the Rummel Church of the Brethren.
They are the parents of six children: Marilyn K. Sloan, Curtis Lee Manges, Marcia G. Madey, Susan F. Bushwack and Lisa A. Bahorik, all of Windber, and Kathy D. Knisely of Pleasantville.
There are 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
