Greenswoods observe golden anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Greenwood of Menoher Heights have observed their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner given by their children and grandchildren at Anthony’s Restaurant, Geistown Borough.
They also went on a three-day cruise with Mrs. Greenwood’s identical twin sister, Jane, and her husband, William Blackham, of Leesburg, Fla., who also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Greenwood and the former Nancy Will were married Aug. 16, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Moxham by Monsignor Thomas Madden.
Mr. Greenwood is the son of the late George and Anna Greenwood.
Mrs. Greenwood is the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Will.
Mr. Greenwood was a salesman for Anderson Paper Co. and Morris Paper Co.
Mrs. Greenwood was a licensed practical nurse.
In 1989, the Greenwood’s opened and operated Greenwood Antiques on Menoher Boulevard. They sold the shop and retired in 2004. In addition, they have been growing and selling Christmas trees on their property with the help of their children and grandchildren for the past 25 years.
The Greenwoods have been members of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church for 36 years.
They are the parents of five children: Linda, wife of William Rigo; Patrick, married to the former Laura Stanley; Thomas, married to the former Romaine Tirko; Susan, wife of Jerry Stem; and Daniel, all of Johnstown.
There are nine grandchildren: Brian, Amy and Adam Rigo, Stephanie, Kevin, Michelle and Jason Greenwood, and Eric and Katie Stem.
