Mr. and Mrs. Michael Brisko of Johnstown have noted their 60th wedding anniversary with a blessing during a Mass at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. The Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Andrew Stanko.
A family dinner was hosted by their children at Surf & Turf Inn, 100 Valley Pike, Johnstown.
Mr. Brisko and the former Sylvia Uzelac were married June 26, 1948, at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church by the Rev. John Golias.
Mr. Brisko was born July 9, 1924, in Johnstown, son of Michael and Veronica Brisko.
Mrs. Brisko was born April 5, 1926, in Johnstown, daughter of Sam and Minnie Uzelac.
Mr. Brisko retired after 39 years’ service from Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He enjoyed playing and coaching baseball and softball.
Mrs. Brisko was a waitress at various restaurants.
She is a member of Johnstown Senior Line Dancers.
The Briskos are active members of St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Brisko was a Eucharistic minister and a member of Ladies Guild.
They are the parents of four children: Debbie, wife of Ed Zapola, Johnstown; Michael K., married to the former Lori Martin, Johnstown; and David D., married to the former Dorothy Felosky, Greencastle, Franklin County. A daughter is deceased.
There are eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
