Couple marks 55 years together

The Rev. Clayton and Jean Harriger of Belsano have marked their 55th wedding anniversary.

The Harrigers were married June 13, 1953, by the Rev. Paul B. Dunlap at Monroe Chapel Methodist Church south of Clarion.

The couple are natives of the Clarion-Sligo area.

The Rev. Harriger is a retired United Methodist minister, having served for 37 years.

His last appointment was at Triangle United Methodist Church in Belsano, where he served for 23 years.

Since November 1999, he has served as a part-time pastor of Gipsy Christian Church in Indiana County.

He is a Webservant for Mission Utility Vehicles Inc. of Mineral Point and Cherry Run Camp Meeting Association near Rimersburg, Clarion County.

He has taught basic lay speaking each spring in the Lay Ministry School sponsored by the Johnstown District of the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Harriger is retired from the former Lee Hospital, where she worked in the medical records department.

She enjoys working with flowers. She also sells items on eBay and likes doing crossword puzzles.

They are the parents of five children: Richard, Vicki, Eric, Linda and Stephen.

There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
