William “Bill” E. Jr. and C. Joan Hunt of Johnstown have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Redwood Family Restaurant, Summerhill, and a reception at Westmont Church of the Brethren hosted by their family.
Mr. Hunt and the former C. Joan Mack were married June 8, 1958, at Westmont Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Earl Kaylor.
They have lived in this area their entire lives.
Mr. Hunt worked his whole life on the family farm.
He has sung with church choirs, and sang with Gospelaires and The Gospel Messengers.
Mrs. Hunt retired as an elementary music teacher in the Westmont Hilltop School District. She also taught private music lessons, directed church choirs and played violin in the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra for many years.
Both are members of Westmont Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Hunt, who enjoys hunting and the outdoors, is a member of the Menoher Heights and Centennial sportsmen’s clubs.
Mrs. Hunt enjoys spending time with her family.
They are the parents of two children: Roger, married to the former Debbie Huston, of Upper Yoder Township, and Jody, wife of Stephen Grasser, of Richland Township.
There are seven grandchildren: Melissa and David Hunt, and Nicole, Russell, Jackie, Keith and Stephen Grasser.
