Smith couple note 50th date

— Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Smith of Armagh have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at Armagh United Methodist Church.
Mr. Smith and the former Carole Yvonne Shiley were married May 17, 1958, at Seward United Methodist Church by the Rev. Leonard E. Shiley.
Mr. Smith was born July 5, 1934, in Philipsburg, Centre County, son of Edward and Freda Smith.
Mrs. Smith was born April 19, 1939, in Robindale, daughter of Charles and Florence Shiley.
Mr. Smith retired after 26 years’ service from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in the accounting department.
He served three years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Deployment.
They are members of Armagh United Methodist Church, where Mrs. Smith is a member of the United Methodist Women.
They are the parents of two children: Lisa Montgomery of Warwick, N.Y., and Darren Smith of Armagh.
There are four grandchil-dren.
